The general sessions featured two noted speakers.  Victor Rios, Ph.D. kicked off the event on Thursday and Elizabeth Anne (Lizzie) Velásquez brought the event to a close on Friday afternoon.

The 12th annual student panel and scholarship award took place Friday morning. This year’s winners were Skylar Carr, Hamilton ISD, Region 12, Sofia Diaz, Alvarado ISD, Region 11, Journie Graham, Hutto ISD, Region 13, Jackson Turner, Llano ISD, Region 13 and Alex Vela, Pearland ISD, Region 4.

Why powered by Student Voice?

Research shows that dropout rates, student achievement, and workforce readiness will improve by integrating student voices in the classroom and society. The Student Voice movement aims to give all students a voice in their own education. Governance Camp believes that student voice matters and has infused student participation in this unique two-and-a-half-day conference by highlighting the incredible students in our state. We believe that we cannot create the leaders of tomorrow without letting them lead today.

Let's connect and share!
