Legislative/Governmental Events
Governmental Relations staff hosts several events that follow the legislative cycle.
All board members are invited during the first quarter of even-numbered years to participate in the Grassroots Meetings, which form the basis of TASB's Advocacy Agenda.
The Texas Federal Advocacy Conference is designed for school trustees to influence federal education policy and takes place in Washington, DC.
The TASA/TASB Legislative Conference, scheduled in odd-numbered years when the Texas Legislature is in session, gives trustees an opportunity to learn about important education issues being discussed by lawmakers and to discuss these issues during legislative visits at the Texas Capitol.
TASB staff also hosts two Post-Legislative Conferences to inform members about new laws that will impact local school districts.
