Marisha Price, Assistant Director

Marisha Negovetich Price joined TASB’s governmental relations staff as an assistant director in January 2015. In this position, she works with legislators, the State Board of Education and the Texas Education Agency to advocate on behalf of TASB members. For the last ten years, Marisha served as Governor Rick Perry’s advisor for higher education policy and budget issues. She acted as a liaison between the state’s 38 general academic institutions and the governor, developing and advising him on higher education initiatives and legislation. Prior to that, she worked in the office of Texas State Senator Steve Ogden, assisting him with higher education budget and policy issues. Previously, Marisha acted as a legislative aide to both Lieutenant Governor Perry and Lieutenant Governor Bill Ratliff.  

A Native Texan, Marisha is originally from Angleton, Texas. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Government.
