Housing and registration are open for the Summer Leadership Institute. TASB’s popular training conference is set in San Antonio
June 16–18 and in Fort Worth June 30–July 2.

Spring Workshops

An official sign of spring are the training workshops held each year. Sessions will be offered April 6—May 25 at locations all over the state.

2016 Loss Prevention Grants

Members of the TASB Risk Management Fund’s grant-eligible programs have until April 1 to apply for this year’s loss prevention grants. The application and program criteria are available online.

Entry forms for the Superintendent of the Year program were mailed to board presidents, and all materials can be found online. Honor your chief administrator for a job well done.

Media Honor Roll

Take time to thank print, television, radio and online reporters for fair and balanced news about our public schools. The annual Media Honor Roll is open for submissions.

Preparing to Serve

Resources are available for districts to share with prospective candidates for the local school board. Free online workshops also are offered February 22 and March 24.

Health care affordability: 
Teacher groups again called for the state to increase its share of the cost for educator health care. Employee premiums have doubled since 2003 while state contributions have stayed the same. 10/29/15
