Edgewood ISD Hires New Superintendent

Eduardo HernandezOn June 19, the Edgewood ISD Board of Managers voted to hire Eduardo Hernandez as the district’s new superintendent. Hernandez most recently served as the Chief of Schools/Chief Academic Officer in Duncanville ISD. He began his career in Dallas ISD and served as principal, and executive director for parent and family services. Hernandez has also served as principal in Terrell ISD, adjunct professor in TAMU Commerce, and chief academic officer in Crowley ISD.

Lockhart ISD Names Lone Finalist

Mark EstradaOn June 11, the Lockhart ISD Board of Trustees named Mark Estrada as the lone finalist for the position of superintendent. Estrada currently serves as assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction in Lockhart ISD.

The Lockhart ISD board is scheduled to vote to hire Estrada after the 21-day waiting period required by state law.

Sinton ISD Hires New Superintendent

Chad JonesOn June 11, the Sinton ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Michael “Chad” Jones as the district’s new superintendent. Jones most recently served as the superintendent in Iola ISD. He began his career in education as a teacher in Oklahoma before moving to College Station ISD to serve as a principal. Jones has also served as a principal in Rockdale ISD and superintendent in West Hardin County CISD.

Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Hires New Superintendent

John ChapmanOn June 7, the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire John Chapman as the district’s new superintendent. Chapman most recently served as the superintendent in Ennis ISD. He began his teaching and coaching career in Lubbock, Texas. Chapman has served as an assistant principal, junior high principal and high school principal. He has also served as superintendent in Chillicothe and Comfort ISDs.

Hunt ISD Hires New Superintendent

Luci HarmonOn June 6, the Hunt ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Luci Harmon as the district’s new superintendent. Harmon most recently served as the district principal in Nueces Canyon CISD. She began her career working in early childhood programs for the US Air Force and became involved in public education fifteen years ago as a first grade teacher and then an elementary math teacher. Harmon has been in administration for the past nine years and most recently served as district principal for Nueces Canyon CISD.

Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD Hires Executive Search Services

On May 30, the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD Board of Trustees hired TASB Executive Search Services (ESS) to conduct a search for a new superintendent. Details and updates will appear on our searches page as things progress.

Alice ISD Hires New Superintendent

Carl ScarbroughOn May 28, the Alice ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Carl Scarbrough as the district’s new superintendent. Scarbrough most recently served as the assistant superintendent in San Antonio ISD. He began his career as a teacher, coach, and department facilitator in Harlandale ISD as well as served as social studies coordinator, elementary principal, middle school principal, and high school vice principal. Scarbrough served as adjunct instructor at Palo Alto College and Texas A&M University in San Antonio. He has also served as principal and director of curriculum and instruction in Southside ISD and assistant superintendent in Seguin ISD.

Central Heights ISD Hires New Superintendent

David RussellOn May 21, the Central Heights ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire David Russell as the district’s new superintendent. Russell most recently served as the principal in Central Heights ISD. He began his career as a teacher/coach in Nacogdoches ISD. Russell has also served as coach, assistant principal, and athletic director in Central Heights ISD.
 

Pine Tree ISD Hires New Superintendent

Steve ClugstonOn May 17, the Pine Tree ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Steve Clugston as the district’s new superintendent. Clugston most recently served as the superintendent in Callisburg ISD. He began his career as a teacher in Crandall, Alto, and Rusk ISDs. Clugston has also served as: principal in Simms, Beckville and Diboll ISDs; assistant superintendent in Needville ISD; and superintendent in Riesel ISD.

Robstown ISD Hires Executive Search Services

On May 14, the Robstown ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire TASB Executive Search Services (ESS) to conduct a search for a new superintendent. Details and updates will appear on our searches page as things progress.

Angleton ISD Hires New Superintendent

Phillip EdwardsOn May 14, the Angleton ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Phillip Edwards as the district’s new superintendent. Edwards most recently served as the superintendent in Kemp ISD. He began his career as a teacher in Aldine, Edgewood, and Mesquite ISDs. Edwards has also served as assistant principal in Mesquite ISD and principal, director of special programs, and interim superintendent in Kemp ISD.

Weatherford College Hires New President

Tod Allen FarmerOn May 11, the Weatherford College Board of Trustees voted to hire Tod Farmer as the college’s new president. Farmer most recently served as chief of staff to Tarleton State University. He managed the operations of the Office of the President and coordinated legal and policy issues with the Texas A&M University System as well as with state agencies and organizations.

In his 12 years at Tarleton, Farmer has also served as certification officer, head of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and as a graduate professor. His graduate level teaching experience includes courses on higher education leadership, leadership of diverse learning communities, theory and practice of organizational leadership, educational governance and other topics.

He also brings experience from the K-12 arena, having spent 10 years with the Springtown Independent School District in positions ranging from director of student services and associate director of instructional technology to high school principal and fifth grade teacher. Farmer is a Weatherford High School and Weatherford College graduate and is believed to be the first WC graduate to be selected as the college’s president.

Caddo Mills ISD Hires New Superintendent

Luke AllisonOn May 3, the Caddo Mills ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Luke Allison as the district’s new superintendent. Allison most recently served as the superintendent in Normangee ISD. He began his career as a teacher/coach in College Station and Groesbeck ISDs. Allison has also served as assistant principal and principal in Groesbeck ISD.
 

Temple ISD Hires New Superintendent

Bobby OttOn April 19, the Temple ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Bobby Ott as the district’s new superintendent. Ott most recently served as the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in Temple ISD. He began his career as a teacher/coach in Round Rock and Anson ISDs, has served as principal and deputy superintendent in Anson, Copperas Cove and Killeen ISDs, and served as director of statewide initiatives at the Texas Education Agency and director of literacy initiatives at the University of Texas.

Lumberton ISD Hires New Superintendent

Gerald ChandlerOn April 5, the Lumberton ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Gerald Chandler as the district’s new superintendent. Chandler most recently served as the assistant superintendent in Lumberton ISD. He began his career as a teacher in Colmesneil and Lumberton ISDs. Chandler has also served as career and technology coordinator, assistant principal, and principal in Lumberton ISD.
