Businesses Supporting Texas Public Schools

In just three years, the Gonzales ISD Education Foundation has contributed $58,894 in teacher grants to support innovative, engaged classroom learning.
The support of local businesses and other community organizations is vitally important to public schools in Texas. These collaborative efforts yield creative, exciting opportunities for students as they advance their learning. Whatever the relationship is, businesses and other organizations that step up to help are invaluable. Their assistance and their allegiance to the public education efforts in the community speak volumes to the community, the teachers, and the students.

In fall 2014, TASB launched a business engagement initiative to (1) honor the businesses and community groups that support public schools, (2) share information about outstanding school-business collaborations, and (3) encourage more businesses to become actively involved in helping students, teachers, and schools.

Businesses Standing Up for Public Schools is an annual recognition program established by TASB to celebrate the important support provided in local communities, express appreciation to those who stand up for schools, and encourage more businesses to participate in this sort of community service. If your district would like to identify a local business or organization that has helped your school, submit a form for the entity you would like to recognize.

In April 2015, TASB hosted the first Business/Education Forum that offered business and community representatives and education leaders an opportunity to discuss how to effectively work together for the success of the students in their communities. Find out how you can join in on the conversation by attending an upcoming Forum to be held at different locations across the state.
