Streit Reelected to State Association Board

(Austin)—The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has reelected Will Streit of Leander ISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 13, Position B.

Streit was elected to the Leander ISD Board of Trustees in May 2008 and is currently serving as vice-president. He previously served as board president in 2015–17 and 2009–12. He also volunteers on the Lone Star Investment Pool Board, to which he was appointed in July 2013.

Streit completed the education studies undergraduate program at the University of California-San Diego (UCSD) and completed his student teaching at the elementary level. In addition, he graduated from UCSD with a bachelor of arts in history, political science, urban planning, and philosophy.

He earned his master of business administration from Duke University and his master’s degree in history from Sam Houston State University. Streit, who also holds professional certificates in accounting and finance, is director of business development at IBM.

TASB is a nonprofit association established in 1949 to serve local public school boards. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 5.3 million students.
