The Model Student Handbook Post-Legislative Supplement has been updated to include Spanish text.

June 30, 2011

The Model Student Handbook has been updated to include the post-legislative supplement, annotated to show changes made in response to the 82nd legislative session. The editable Model text has been revised to match the supplement.

  • Index. For the first time, the Model Student Handbook includes an index, and the district can choose to edit a Model with or without index entries.
  • Spanish. Revised Model text in Spanish will be made available in July.

Campus administrators should contact their superintendents to get a copy of the latest post-legislative supplement. An e-mail announcing the Model Student Handbook Post-Legislative Supplement was sent June 30 to superintendents, superintendents' secretaries, and policy contacts—district employees with these roles can retrieve the Model on the myTASB Web site.

The Model Student Handbook is provided annually to school districts as an aid toward the development of local student handbooks.  Policy Service member school districts can expect to receive an e-mail each spring explaining how to retrieve the Model Student Handbook online.
