1) TASB is a SHARS specialist

TASB filed the first electronic SHARS claims for Houston ISD in January 1993, but our involvement began much earlier. The strong relationships and credibility TASB has with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), and Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) are a result of this early involvement and our long-term commitment to providing timely and accurate information to school districts. 

TASB also had the unique opportunity to support Northside ISD through the first official federal audit of a SHARS program and since then, has assisted numerous members through this process. SMART is one of the most competitively priced solutions in the marketplace. Members are charged a flat percentage from their reimbursement amounts. This percentage lowers when a member signs a three-year contract with TASB. SMART’s flat fee includes software training, hotline support, or any other aspect of the SMART service.
