Leadership TASB

As a school trustee, how many times have you wished for a network of colleagues from other parts of the Lone Star State whom you could call to review your ideas about school policy or governance? How many times have you wished you could have a greater influence on education policy in Austin or Washington, D.C.? How many times have you wished for a guide, a mentor, or a coach to help you through the tough times?

If those wishes sound familiar, TASB invites you to apply to become a member of a specialized leadership development program designed by school board members for school board members. The program is Leadership TASB. Applications are accepted May 1 through July 1 annually. LTASB Sixth Annual Reunion

Registration opens Monday, August 15, 2011

The LTASB Alumni Association along with the Class of 2011 will host the Sixth Annual Reunion on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Palazzo on the first level of Austin's Convention Center. Held in conjunction with the TASA/TASB convention, the reunion starts at 5:30 p.m. with the conclusion of the First General Session. Cost for this event is $20 in advance or $30 at the door.

More than 200 LTASB graduates attended the reunion in 2010. Highlights included honoring Bobby J Rigues, Class of 2009, with the Celebration of Leadership Outstanding Alumni Award and the traditional, silent auction which raised more than $26,000 for scholarships.

Online nominations forms for the Celebration of Leadership Outstanding Alumni Award are now available and must be received by September 16.
