Ifeoma Ibekwe, Senior Attorney
Ifeoma joined the Legal Services Division in 2007 and became a Senior Attorney in 2012. Since 2009, Ifeoma has served as the editor of the TASB School Law Update. Additionally, Ifeoma presents at regional and state-wide training events on topics including open government, social media, and other school-related topics.
Ifeoma received her bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003, and then earned her law degree from The University of Texas School of Law in 2006. While at UT Law, she was the vice-president of the Thurgood Marshall Legal Society, and a member of Medley, the law school's 10-student a cappella group. Ifeoma also clerked for the law firm of Walsh, Anderson, Brown, Schulze & Aldridge, P.C. during law school.
Prior to joining TASB, Ifeoma served as an attorney for the Texas State Teachers Association.
Ifeoma is member of the school law section of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Council of School Attorneys, and the Austin Black Lawyers Association. In her spare time, Ifeoma enjoys Longhorn football, baking, international travel, photography, and being an active member of her church.
