School districts face an increasingly complex legal environment. TASB School Law eSource is a compilation of TASB Legal Services’ online school law resources intended to provide a guide to school district board members and administrators and the school law community navigating difficult legal issues.
Religion in the Public Schools includes documents that supplement the Religion in the Public Schools DVD program and a number other resources that address the variety of questions that arise regarding religious expression in schools.
Legal Services has also published a number of FAQs that address common questions regarding school law in such areas as local governance, business and support services, and personnel and student issues.
The 81st Texas Legislature passed a number of bills that impact community colleges. TASB Legal Services summarized the bills that impact both community colleges and school districts and those that impact only school districts in the 2009 Legislative Summary for School Attorneys, available in the TASB store. The Community College Supplement (pdf), which summarizes those bills that impact community colleges and not school districts, is now available.
