Texas districts optimistic about pay increases for 2013-14

More than three-quarters of all districts responding to our quick poll about projected pay increases for 2013-14 intend to give raises, and those raises are likely to be bigger than last year’s.

Texas Supreme Court ruling limits workers’ rights in investigations

A long-awaited decision by the Texas Supreme court states that unionized public employees (including teachers) don’t have the right to union representation during internal investigations.

NSF survey identifies shortcomings in math, science teacher preparation

Teachers surveyed indicate that their preparation to teach math and science is lacking; UTeach gets $22.5 million expansion grant to prepare more math, science majors for the classroom.
