Inside HR Services

HR Academy helps new school HR administrators get off to a successful start

The annual TASB/TASPA HR Academy will be held on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at the Marriott La Frontera Hotel in Round Rock. HR Academy is widely regarded as the best and most comprehensive training event of the year for new school HR administrators. Experienced HR leaders in Texas schools, TASB HR consultants, and school attorneys will present information on HR department roles, certification and No Child Left Behind, legal issues in personnel, recruiting and hiring, compensation and benefits, leaves and absences, and personnel records. Participants receive valuable reference material and will have opportunities to meet and network with other HR professionals. Our Salary Survey is now easier for small schools

Districts with less than 1,000 students have three new reasons to participate in the TASB/TASA District Personnel Survey (which includes teachers), to be distributed to our program contacts on Sept. 8.

  1. The number of job titles has been reduced from 56 to 38.
  2. The survey can be completed in either a print format (pdf) or Excel SmartScreen (similar to last year, but shorter).
  3. Small districts that participate will be rewarded with an exclusive summary of results from districts with fewer than 1,000 students.

That means you’ll have data from the most comprehensive school employee salary survey in your hands to help you plan your budget for the future. If you need additional information on the survey, call 800-580-7782.
