Inside HR Services

Have you posted the supplement
to your federal worksite posters?

All districts should have posted a supplemental notice dealing with the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) alongside their federal worksite poster by now. New posting requirements for GINA and revisions to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are included in the EEOC supplemental notice. The notice can be downloaded from the EEOC Web Site This link opens in a new window. free of charge. Adding the free supplement alongside your posters will keep you in compliance with the law until new posters are available.

HR Services is waiting until fall to update our federal worksite poster because more posting changes are expected relating to family military leave. The model vacancy notices and applications in the Recruiting and Hiring section of the HR Library This link opens in a new window. are now updated to include GINA in the Equal Employment Opportunity Statement.

Back by popular demand: our FMLA workshop

Due to overflow registration at our first event, we have added another training date for Get a Grip on Family and Medical Leave. The additional workshop will be held in Austin at TASB on June 2, the day prior to our M.I.A. – Managing Inevitable Absences workshop. Administrators can register online. Call 800-580-7782 if you have questions.

Call for your DataCentral password

’Tis the season to compare salaries and make recommendations for pay raise budgets. DataCentral has up-to-date survey data that makes your task quick and easy. Be aware that access to DataCentral requires a different password than myTASB access. Our member contacts have been provided with the district username and password. If you’ve forgotten your login information or don’t know who your DataCentral contact is, call us at 800-580-7782.

Need to review your extra-duty stipends?

All district members can access the Extra-Duty Stipend Report This link opens in a new window. in our HR Library (myTASB login required).

HR Advisory Committee meets

Members of our HR Advisory Committee, composed of chief human resource officers in several large districts around the state, met at TASB on Feb. 26. The committee met to review a progress report on DataCentral HR Surveys and to identify and brainstorm new survey topics on HR policies and practices. The committee meets twice a year to advise us on their current needs and interests and guide us in HR survey development.
