Inside HR Services

Need salary data for recruiting season?

Save yourself time and get ready for teacher recruiting season with HR DataCentral This link opens in a new window.. Statewide surveys on salaries and stipends for teachers plus more than 120 other job titles will be available in December. HR DataCentral members will be able to log in and compare their pay with other districts in their target market in minutes. There are now 255 districts that have added HR DataCentral to their HR Services membership. MyTASB users who do not have HR DataCentral will have access to a printable report of survey results in January.

Don’t forget the final survey—Extra-Duty Stipends

Our survey of extra-duty stipends for coaches and sponsors of academic contests and performing arts is the final survey in our annual series. A new electronic survey tool was emailed to our district contacts in September. The deadline for completion of the Extra-Duty Stipend survey is Dec. 12. At this point, just 331 districts have responded, about half the usual level of participation. Please participate! You can access the survey spreadsheet here This link opens in a new window.

Work-site posters with FMLA update available in January

Updates to our work-site posters have been delayed pending the final release of these rules. The updated Federal Work-Site Postings for Texas Public Employers will be available for purchase in January. Any district that purchased this poster after June 1, 2008, will receive a discount to replace those posters with the updated version.

Need do-it-yourself training on ethics for educators?

If so, then we have a great deal for you. Jed Reed, HR director in Garland ISD, has generously made available a PowerPoint training presentation, complete with graphics and presentation notes, that was developed during his employment with Lewisville ISD. And best of all, it’s free! After Jed’s presentation at Personnel Academy last month, many participants were asking for a copy of his slides. He’s been generous enough to provide HR Services with access to Ethics for Educators This link opens in a new window. so that administrators can download the information for use in their own districts.
