Community Partnerships
Building confidence in Texas public schools is critical for the success of the state's 4.5 million students. School board members know good things are happening in Texas public schools but may not be sure quite the right way to showcase student success. At the same time, school board members can also quickly identify areas in which the district needs more resources to help address specific student needs. These are two reasons why more districts are looking to develop partnerships that engage parents, the community, businesses, and local agencies to improve student success and the public's perception of education.
TASB has collected some examples of effective partnerships into which schools are entering with businesses, local governments and their surrounding communities. If your district would like to share its own experience with a successful partnership on this Web site, please contact Dax Gonzalez ( ) in TASB Governmental Relations for more information.
