Qualifications & Characteristics
Qualifications highly desirable:
Master's Degree (Doctorate highly preferred) with emphases in curriculum, instruction, and educational leadership, as well as certification as a school administrator.
Seven years of successful experience as an executive level administrator, preferably in an urban school district, with progressively responsible experience at the campus level and in central administration. Experience at all three levels - elementary, middle school, and high school - preferred.
Strong instructional foundation with knowledge of current instructional administration techniques and programs throughout the state and nation, incorporating findings into the local organization where appropriate.
Thorough knowledge of the Texas Education Code, curriculum, and instruction, including best practices for school improvement, and thorough understanding of the other student related services.
