About Us
Located just east of D/FW International Airport, Irving ISD (IISD) serves approximately 33,800 students. Texas Education Agency ratings for 2008-2009 include three Exemplary schools, 14 Recognized schools, and 15 Academically Acceptable schools. All students in grades 9-12 are issued networked laptop computers for use at home and in the classroom, and all teachers received laptops computers. The library program was recognized as Best in the Nation in 1991 and 2000, and in 2003 IISD was selected as the first Microsoft Center of Excellence. Graduating seniors in the Class of 2009 earned more than 21 million in scholarship offers.
