Qualifications & Characteristics
The superintendent, as chief executive officer (CEO), is accountable to the Board of Trustees, which expects the CEO to be the educational leader of Liberty Hill ISD. The CEO works closely with the Board of Trustees to develop and implement policies and programs designed to carry out the district's mission.
In concert with the staff, students, and the community, the Board of Trustees has identified certain characteristics and qualifications as highly desirable in a CEO:
An experienced educator with a background in teaching and campus administration. Experience as a superintendent is preferred An articulate communicator with a sense of humor who is approachable and open; a "people" person Has a reputation for being actively involved in district activities and visible throughout the community Confident, optimistic leader with a proven record of improving academic performance, building successful teams, and working effectively with different groups An effective manager who sets clear direction, delegates authority, and trusts professionals to accomplish the district's mission without excessive oversight Has a record of proven success in school financial management A collaborative problem solver who relies on facts to make tough decisions and set priorities Experience with school bonds and facilities construction preferred An honest person with high moral standards and personal ethics Committed to Liberty Hill ISD and building long term stability for the district
