Qualifications & Characteristics

  • An experienced administrator who has served as a teacher, campus principal, and superintendent (preferred but not required) and can provide direction to the district through a collaborative planning process

  • Confident, optimistic leader with the wisdom to honor the traditions of the community and district and integrate that history into the decision-making process

  • Experienced with school budget development and financial management

  • An approachable people person who communicates effectively and willingly shares information with the students, staff, and community

  • Able to work in partnership with a Board of Trustees and build a climate of candor, mutual trust, and cooperation

  • Delegates effectively and empowers staff to carry out their responsibilities while remaining knowledgeable and accountable for the districts progress

  • An honest person of integrity with high moral standards and personal ethics

  • Understands life in a small, rural district

  • Committed to Overton ISD for the long term and demonstrate active involvement in the district and community
