In concert with the staff, parents, students, and community, the Board of Trustees has identified certain qualifications and characteristics as highly desirable in a superintendent:

About Us
The Community
Barbers Hill Independent School District (ISD) is located in west Chambers County, 35 miles east of Houston and 56 miles west of Beaumont on Interstate Highway 10. The district encompasses four communities including the City of Mont Belvieu, Old River-Winfree, Beach City, and Cove. The citizens of west Chambers County reap the advantages of small-town life where they can live and work, raise and show animals, swim, fish, hunt, golf, or have a relaxing picnic in the park. Nestled inside the City of Mont Belvieu, the Eagle Pointe Golf Club and Recreation Complex is an oasis of recreational fun for both families and corporations. This public facility, owned by the City of Mont Belvieu, features the highly acclaimed Eagle Pointe Golf Club, a top-ranked course with 40-foot elevation changes, cascading waterfalls, and forested surroundings.
The District
Barbers Hill ISD is composed of 98 square miles and is bordered by Trinity Bay on the south, the Trinity River to the east, and the Texas Highway 146 corridor to the west. To the north, the boundary abuts the southern-most border of Liberty County.
The school district is made up of five individual campuses located on 237 acres. The site includes an administration building, agriculture and athletic facilities, a field house, and transportation and maintenance facilities.
Technology is an integral part of the district instructional program with more than 1,200 computers in classrooms and labs. The system is supported by a fiber optic network, that functions in tandem with an evolving wireless capability. Teachers and other staff enjoy a high level of technical support and training opportunities to better facilitate the integration of technology into the curriculum at all levels.
Barbers Hill ISD has excellent facilities and is in the process of implementing a $31.6 million bond program for upgrading and renovating existing facilities and the addition of a new elementary school.
