Mission
Providing each student of Pewitt CISD with the opportunity to attain a comprehensive education in order to achieve success in all areas of life is and should be the motivating force for Pewitt Schools. Providing students with meaningful experiences while in school will help insure success both during and after school. Development of academic skills, independent and logical thinking and responsible citizenship; will guide our students throughout their lives. Preparations during early learning experiences will offer our younger citizens opportunities for successful living the remainder of their lives.
About Us
Announcement of Vacancy
The Pewitt Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees is seeking a highly qualified administrator to be its new superintendent of schools. This vacancy was created by the retirement of Mr. Richard Kitchens after a very successful 13 years as superintendent and 28 years with the district.
The Community
Pewitt CISD serves students from two towns, Omaha and Naples. These communities are located 50 miles southwest of Texarkana, and 15 miles east of Mt. Pleasant.
The main industry in these communities is ranching. Medical and dental facilities are available in Naples, Mt. Pleasant and Texarkana. These facilities include the Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant which is a level three designated Trauma Center. Higher education facilities are within commuting distance. Northwest Texas Community College is located 15 miles from Paul H. Pewitt High School.
The District
Pewitt CISD covers more than 200 square miles including parts of Morris, Titus, and Cass Counties. The district consist of a high school and junior high school on one campus. A separate campus houses the elementary school. The school district is fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). For the past seven years TEA has awarded the high school the rating of exemplary, and the junior high and elementary received the rating of recognized. Academic excellence is an expectation at Pewitt CISD based on a tradition of high staff and student achievement.
