Qualifications & Characteristics
Candidate must possess:
Strong background in education governance, school business procedures
Minimum of 10 years experience as Superintendent in Texas public schools
Must have been a Superintendent in ESC Region 4, 5 and 6 for three (3) of the last five (5) years or retired within the last five (5) years from a school district in those regions
Ability to effectively deal with the public, member districts and their personnel, and TASB employees
Ability to act independently with little or no supervision
Ability to maximize time, logistics and travel budget within assigned territory
Strong desire to promote TASB services, programs, and products within the assigned territory.
Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute.
Basic knowledge of data entry and use of e-mail
Position is 100 percent travel, 20 hrs. per week, 80 hrs. per month, with some overnight travel required. Applicant must be willing and able to meet the demands of this position.

Mission
The Field Services Division's mission statement is twofold: first, to aggressively promote district participation in all TASB programs; and second, to establish and maintain a relationship of trust and goodwill between TASB and its member districts and their Board of Trustees.
