Qualifications & Characteristics
The Board of Trustees in cooperation with the students, staff, parents, and community has identified certain characteristics as being desirable in the superintendent/CEO. An experienced superintendent with a non-threatening leadership style who trusts professionals to do their job without over supervision Confident leader with a proven record of building successful teams, improving academic performance, and working collaboratively with different groups "People" person with a sense of humor and easy manner who motivates staff and students to excel by his or her presence, support, and positive example A well-rounded educator with a broad base of experience who is comfortable dealing with all races and treats district and community members respectfully Able to work in partnership with a Board of Trustees and build a climate of candor, mutual trust, and cooperation A creative problem solver who can make the tough decisions and then support those decisions with resources and personal commitment Person of integrity, high moral standards, and personal ethics A superior communicator with refined interpersonal skills who is visible, willing to listen and learn, and interacts well with the students, staff, and community Committed to Connally ISD for the long term and actively involved in the district and community
Mission
The mission of the District is to ensure the highest quality instruction for all students using methods that will show positive results and consistent gains in academic performance to the maximum of each student's abilities. By involving the total school community, the District will equip students with the life skills of effective communications, problem-solving, technological literacy, job responsibility, and teamwork necessary for productive citizenship and leadership in our global society.
