The Board of Trustees in cooperation with the staff, parents, and community has identified certain characteristics as being desirable in the Superintendent of Schools. Understands and appreciates the diversity in a district like Lyford CISD. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Family oriented with integrity, honesty, and strong moral values. A superior communicator with refined interpersonal skills who is willing to listen and learn; interacts well with the staff and community. A "people person" who is visible, accessible, and approachable; encourages broad-based participation and representation in the decision making process. Civic minded and wants to be a part of the Lyford CISD community; prepared to accept the challenges of a community with high expectations for its schools. Attentive to staff morale and has proven abilities to build an effective management team and attract a quality staff committed to excellence. Works in partnership with the board to provide timely, accurate information and maintains a climate of candor, mutual trust, and cooperation. Evaluates existing programs and operations carefully before recommending changes. Astute financial manager with proven skills in budget development and administration. Successful maintaining a proper balance between academics and extracurricular programs and believes in strong, consistent discipline. An educational leader with a comprehensive view of education and a broad base of teaching and administrative experiences; has proven successful in increasing achievement levels of all students
