- Superintendent - Dr.Timothy Jenney - The Fort Bend Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to hire Dr. Timothy R. Jenney at a September 9 special called meeting. Jenney is the district's eighth superintendent/CEO since it formed in 1959, and follows retiring superintendent Dr. Betty Baitland. The Board vote was unanimous to hire Jenney who will officially report to the district on September 12.

Qualifications & Characteristics
The superintendent, as chief executive officer (CEO), is accountable to the Board of Trustees, which expects the superintendent/CEO to be the leader of Fort Bend ISD. The superintendent/CEO works closely with the Board of Trustees to develop and implement policies and programs designed to carry out the district's mission.
In concert with the staff, students, and the community, the Board of Trustees has identified certain characteristics and qualifications as highly desirable in a superintendent/CEO.
The new superintendent/CEO of Fort Bend ISD should be:
An assertive, proven leader preferably with large district experience as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. Able to work in partnership with a Board of Trustees and build a climate of candor, mutual trust, and cooperation. An effective team builder who can unify the staff and faculty. Courageous and tactful in confronting difficult groups and issues constructively. Experienced in managing the process of district and community growth. A visionary who can establish a shared vision and set direction for the district. A professional with a strong foundation in school finance and district operations who relies on facts to make timely decisions. Enthusiastic, approachable, friendly, and have a sense of humor. A positive role model of integrity, morals, and honesty. Confident and articulate in communicating with the district and community.

Mission
