Has long been associated with Kilgore ISD. He served as school superintendent from 1993 to 2007 and previously served as principal and assistant principal at KilgoreHigh School, as well as an assistant middle school principal, counselor, and English teacher. He also has served New Boston ISD as elementary principal and Leverett’s Chapel ISD as superintendent. Roberts has master’s degrees in education, guidance and counseling, and psychology from Texas A&M, Texarkana. He was voted Alumni of the Year in the Education Department of that school and twice was selected as a finalist for Superintendent of the Year.
