May Reelected to Statewide Association Board

(Austin) – The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has reelected Benny May of Barbers Hill ISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 4C.
May currently serves on the Barbers Hill ISD and joined the TASB Board in January 2009. He has been a member of his local board since 1996 and has served as president, vice-president, and secretary.

A graduate of McNeese State University, May earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business. He has been a supervisor for Exxon Mobil for 22 years. May is actively involved in volunteering his time with children. He is a Life Skill class mentor at the elementary school, assists children with 4-H and FFA projects, and attends as many school activities as possible. He has served as a member of the Houston Livestock Show Committee, volunteer coordinator for the BH Gulf Coast Classic girls and boys basketball tournament, and a member of the Leadership Team for Mont Belvieu Assembly of God Church. Helping children be successful is what keeps him motivated.

TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.7 million public school students.
