Lentz-Edwards Elected to Statewide Association Board

(Austin) - The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has elected Lee Lentz-Edwards of Kermit ISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 18.
Lentz-Edwards is the secretary of the Kermit ISD Board, where she has served since May 2006. An instructional consultant for Region 18 Education Service Center, she earned a bachelor of business administration degree and a master's in education and business administration at Sul Ross State University. She has worked in the field of education for over 30 years. Active in her community, Lentz-Edwards has served as a member of the Kermit Rotary Club, holding the positions of president in 2004 and secretary in 2002. In 1995, she was selected as Kermit's Woman of the Year. She also has worked with the 4-H program, Girl Scouts, and her church.
TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.7 million public school students.
