Villarreal Elected to Statewide Association Board

(Austin) – The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has elected Carlos Villarreal of San Antonio ISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 20C.
Elected to his local board in May 2004, Villarreal is the vice-president and previously served as assistant secretary. Villarreal attended Fox TechHigh School and St. Philip’s College. He is a retired San Antonio ISD employee after 32 years of service. In his spare time, he serves as an umpire and referee for local sports.
TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.6 million public school students.
