Needham Reelected to Statewide Association Board

(Austin) – The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has reelected Judy Needham of Fort Worth ISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 11B.

Needham was elected to the Fort Worth ISD board in 1996 and has served as chair of the Technology Advisory Committee. Needham earned a bachelor’s degree in math and Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin. A fundraising consultant for United Way, she previously worked in development for Boys and Girls Clubs and was a restaurant owner. 

Active in community service, she is a as board member of Mayfest, Inc., the Molyneaux Charitable Foundation, Lena Pope Home, Presbyterian Night Shelter, Historic Camp Bowie, Fort Worth Nature Center Conservancy, Fort Worth Garden Club, and the Vic Thompson Memorial Youth Scholarship Fund. Needham also is a member of the Mayor’s Task Force to end chronic homelessness. A library established for homeless schoolchildren at the Union Gospel Mission was named in her honor.

TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.6 million public school students.
