Naron Elected to Statewide Association Board

(Austin) -- The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has elected Wes Naron of Plainview ISD to a one-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 17. Naron is the current vice-president of the Plainview ISD board of trustees.

A graduate of Plainview High School, he is the manager of Training and Development for NTS Communications Inc. Before that he served in the same capacity for Wal-Mart Logistics for several years. Naron attended West Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University, with his studies culminating in a master of fine arts degree. A former member of the Rotary and Lions clubs, Naron has served as president of the Plainview Bulldog Booster Club as well as treasurer and vice-president of the Plainview Band Boosters.  He is a member of Plainview Civic Theatre and the West Texas Chapter for the American Society for Training and Development, where he served as president in 2003.

TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.6 million public school students.
