Robert R. Seward

TASB Immediate Past President 

Robert Seward joined the Mesquite Board of Trustees in 1993. He served three years as president, two years as vice-president, and four years as secretary. He was elected to the TASB Board in September 1998 and serves as a member of the First Public, LLC Governance Committee and Legal Assistance Fund Board. He also was elected as a Leadership Advisory Council member to the TASB Board from 1996 to 1998. He is a Leadership TASB graduate, has served as chair, vice-chair, co-chair, and member of several committees, and has participated in Delegate Assembly since 1995. Seward has been a presenter and panelist at various TASB conferences and workshops since 1996. He also has served on various National School Boards Association (NSBA) committees and currently as a member of the NSBA Nominating Committee.
 
Seward is a senior accounting specialist, Power Accounting, at Luminant Power. He holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from the University of North Texas. He is a member of the North Texas Area Association of School Boards and serves on the board of Sharing Life Community Outreach. Seward served as an officer and member of several City of Mesquite, Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, and sports officiating organizations, boards, and committees. He is the recipient of the God and Service Award from the Boy Scouts of America and is a Texas PTA Life Member. Seward also served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1975. He and his wife, Marjorie, are both graduates of Mesquite High School and have been married for 40 years. They have a son, Craig, a daughter, Christy, a son-in-law Dan Fay, and two granddaughters, Monica and Sophie.
