Patricia Hughes

Region 19A*

Patricia L. Hughes was elected to the El Paso ISD (EPISD) Board in May 2007 and re-elected for a four-year term in May 2011. She has served as secretary and president. Hughes attended The University of Texas at El Paso and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.
She has been actively involved in PTA organizations for the past 15 years and served as president of the EPISD Council of PTAs. She has been awarded both Texas PTA and National PTA Honorary Life Memberships. Hughes served on many EPISD committees prior to becoming a board member, including the EPISD Budget Review Committee and the EPISD Districtwide Educational Improvement Council. She is on the Advisory Board for The Assistance League of El Paso as well as a director for the EPISD Education Foundation.

Hughes has been a Director with TASB since August 2007 and is a 2010 graduate of Leadership TASB, with a Master Trustee designation. Hughes currently serves as secretary-treasurer for the Far West Texas School Boards Association.
